1. Atkins Diet
- Essentially a low carbohydrate, high protein diet as well as the consumption of fats.
- Focuses on controlling insulin levels.
- This diet is targeted at those who wish to lose weight/drop body fat. Many bodybuilders use this diet when competitions are coming up in order to hit a low body fat percentage.
2. ‘Zone’ Diet
- This is a more all round diet. The ‘zone’ diet is broken into three; 30% fats, 30% protein and 40% carbohydrates.
- Much like the Atkins Diet, this diet also focuses on controlling insulin levels and thus aiding in the loss of weight/body fat.
- This diet encourages the consumption of unrefined carbohydrates, and fats, such as olive oil, avocados, and nuts.
3. Ketogenic Diet
- This is almost a half way mark between the zone diet and the atkins diet.
- Involves reducing carbohydrate intake and upping fat intake. This allows the body to burn fat as a fuel, rather than carbohydrates.
